The DMI Women's World, International Women's Day 2025 celebration in Tanzania was a vibrant and empowering event that gathered an impressive 848 women at Luguruni St. Joseph University, Ground. Coordinated by Sr. Fatima Jacintha Rani DMI, the Country Director and WWO Community Manager, the event was designed to empower women through a combination of educational, health, and business-oriented activities.

The day began with a solemn opening prayer led by Sr. Cyrila, followed by a welcoming address from Ms. Theopista, the Regional Level Federation (RLF) Chairperson. The District Level Federation (DLF) Vice Chairperson then presented the annual report, which reflected on the achievements and challenges of the past year. The atmosphere was energised by music and dancing, giving participants a joyful interlude before the event proceeded.

A central highlight of the event was the Medical Camp, organised in collaboration with doctors from St. Joseph Hospital at Mbweni, under the guidance of Dr. Sr. Bella DMI. The camp offered free health services, including screenings for conditions such as cervical cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, and more. It raised awareness about healthy living and preventive measures, empowering women to take charge of their health and well-being.

Another significant component of the celebration was the Business Marketing seminar led by Ms. Jonathan from the Launchpad organisation. The seminar focused on modern marketing techniques, digital strategies, and the empowerment of women in business. Topics included digital marketing tools, branding, social media presence, and the challenges and opportunities women face in entrepreneurship. The seminar also provided networking opportunities, helping to foster collaboration among women entrepreneurs.

The event was further elevated by the presence of distinguished guests, including Dr. Soumya Chavan, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center in India, Ms. Diana Inkarage, District Administrative Officer and Chief Guest, and Ms. Jasinta UWT. Their presence lent prestige to the occasion, and their participation was highly appreciated by the attendees.

The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Sande, followed by lunch and the continuation of the medical camp. The positive feedback from participants underscored the success of the event, as many expressed their gratitude for the empowerment and inspiration provided through the various educational, health, and business-focused activities.

This event marked a significant step toward the continued empowerment of DMI Women in Tanzania, with the hope that similar initiatives will continue to have a lasting and positive impact on the lives of women in the region.
