On March 8, 2025, Mrs. Faith Wadime, the esteemed representative of the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organization (WUCWO) in Kenya and ambassador of the World Women Observatory, together with other CWA and women from different walks of life, organized a remarkable celebration at the Magarini Mission in Malindi Diocese, Kenya. This event marked International Women’s Day with a vibrant and inclusive gathering that resonated with the theme of empowerment and unity.
Preparations for this special occasion began two months earlier, reflecting the dedication and enthusiasm of the Catholic Women’s Association (CWA). The event welcomed neighboring churches in a spirit of ecumenism, alongside Muslim friends, youth groups, the Pontifical Missionary Children (PMC), Catholic Men’s Association (CMA), religious leaders, and choir leaders from various outstations. Together, they embodied the spirit of “Pilgrims of Hope.”

The day was filled with joy and celebration. Attendees shared meals, drinks, and danced merrily, honoring the strength and power of women. A dramatized scene highlighted the importance of empowering women and addressing gender-based violence (GBV). Additionally, insightful talks shed light on critical issues such as human trafficking, sexual abuse, and inheritance rights within families—emphasizing the need for husbands to include their wives in wills.
**This event successfully aligned with and fulfilled the mission of the World Women Observatory, fostering awareness, empowerment, and action to address challenges faced by women in society.** Expert speakers provided valuable insights into legal frameworks, promoting advocacy for women’s rights and creating a space for meaningful dialogue.
The event also recognized and rewarded religious leaders and the sick within the mission, leaving them deeply grateful for the acknowledgment and support.
This celebration was a testament to the power of community, unity, and the enduring strength of women. It served as a reminder of the importance of collaboration across faiths and generations to address societal challenges and uplift one another.
